EMC LAB A

A corner of this lab is occupied by a 12'x12' Lindgren shielded room. This room is used primarily for radiated susceptibility and bulk current injection measurements. Since we are located directly above one of the ECE department's computer learning centers, it is important for us to have a well shielded environment for making measurements where strong EM fields are generated.

This inside of the shielded room is lined with absorbing material that we salvaged from a commercial test site that was being renovated. This material helps to attenuate standing waves.

This lab also houses a number of test stations for making high-frequency measurements. This station contains a Hewlett-Packard 4192 impedance analyzer and a Tektronics time-domain reflectometer.

Most soldering, board rework and prototype construction tasks can be performed at the board rework station.
