The Missouri S&T EMC Lab has a summer internship program for international undergraduate students. The self-funded intern students spend the summer (usually 2-3 months) in the laboratory and participate into cutting-edge research on electromagnetic compatibility, signal and power integrity. They work with their mentors (senior graduate students) and faculty advisors to experience a real-world research environment while having opportunities to participate in cultural and networking activities. This internship program also serves as a graduate student recruiting tool for the Missouri S&T EMC Lab. At the end of the internship program, excellent intern students are offered to continue their graduate studies with the lab a year later. This program, developed by Prof. Jun Fan, started in 2013 with 6 rising-senior students from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), and now expanded to 19 intern students from 5 universities in China and South Korea in 2018. From 2013 to 2017, totally 41 students participated in this internship program and 16 of them have come back as graduate students (11 PhD and 5 MS).
